Franz Schuber "Mass in G" — Sunday March 26 in Worship
The Indianola Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir, soloists, and organist Orlay Alonso will be joined by a string quartet to present one of Franz Schubert’s most popular works for choir.  Schubert composed six Latin masses and one German mass throughout his career.  The Mass in G was the second of the Latin masses and was composed when Schubert was only 18 years old.  Young Schubert composed this mass for the church he attended as a child.

Palm Saturday Event for Children — April 8 (10:00 am - 2:00 pm)
The Christian Education Committee is offering a wonderful opportunity for our children to experience the paschal mystery in a provocative way in a one-day event on Saturday of Palm Sunday weekend.  The centerpiece of the day will be a Prayer Walk of the Passion followed by the chance to engage that experience in a variety of ways.  Watch for further information for parents and invitations for your children. 
Passion/Palm Sunday Worship — April 9 (10:30 am)
Come celebrate and remember again Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and begin the arduous journey of Holy Week.  Palm fronds will be distributed, and the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering will be received.
Maundy Thursday Supper & Tenebrae Service — April 13 (6:30 p.m.)
The evening begins with supper in Fellowship Hall commemorating Jesus' Last Supper.  While this meal will not be strictly the Passover Seder meal, it will include the foods appropriate to the occasion.  The meal will be part of a larger worship service—opening with scripture and a hymn prior to the meal, continuing with communion at the supper table, and concluding with a Tenebrae service in the church sanctuary.  Dinner: $10/adult, $5/child, or $25/family.
Good Friday Taizé Service — April 14 (5:45 p.m.)
During this candlelight service of scripture, contemplative song, prayer, and meditation, there will be special time s for silently reflecting and meditating on the crucifixion of Jesus.
40-Hour Prayer Watch — Good Friday (6:30 pm) through Easter Morning (10:30 am)
The 40 hous of continuous prayer begins after Taizé and concludes at the beginning of the Easter morning Worship Service. Community member can sign up for one-hour blocks to pray... at the church, at home, with friends/family, or alone. The sign-up sheet will be posted in Thompdon Lounge by Feb. 24.

Easter Sunrise Service — April 16 (6:45 am)
Come join us at 6:45 a.m. for sunrise worship in the Shadblow Shelter at Blendon Woods Metro Park.  We will gather in the cool, dim light of early morning, and with therising of the sun celebrate the light of Christ's triumph over the darkness of sin and death.
Easter Sunday Festival Worship — April 16 (10:30 am)
"The day of resurrection!  Earth tell it out abroad!"  Come celebrate the victory of the resurrection in our Easter morning festival of music, praise, and Good News.
