WE GATHER IN AWE AND PRAISE
PRELUDE “Holy Spirit, Be My Guide” arr. Gene Robertson
WELCOME Rev. Trip Porch
One: This is the day that the Lord has made
All: Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
*CALL TO WORSHIP
One: Come, people of God, gather in hope and holy expectation.
All: We come by faith, trusting in the One who formed the world by the Spirit’s breath.
One: We come to remember the promises of God—
That we are not alone, not abandoned, not without purpose.
All: By faith, we open our lives to the Spirit’s fire-
To be moved, to be made new, to be sent.
One: The wind of the Spirit is blowing-tongues of fire ignited.
calling dreamers and builders, wanderers and witnesses.
All: So let us worship God with joyful hearts and open hands,
for the Spirit is here, and we are not the same.
*HYMN 284 “Holy Spirit, Come to Us” TUI AMORIS IGNEM
*PRAYER OF CONFESION Peter Maurath
God of wind and wonder, You call us to live by faith, to trust what we cannot see, to walk toward promises not yet fulfilled. But we confess that we grow weary of the waiting, afraid of the unknown, and resistant to your Spirit’s urging. Forgive us when we cling to comfort over courage, certainty over trust, fear over freedom. Send your Spirit to renew us-to shake us loose from complacency, to set our hearts ablaze with love, and to give us courage to live as people of promise.
Silent prayer…
Leader: Spirit of mercy, All: come like wind and fire. Breathe forgiveness into our bones and set our feet on paths of hope. Amen.

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
SCRIPTURE NRSVUE
Psalm 33:12-22
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.
The Lord looks down from heaven; he sees all humankind.
From where he sits enthroned he watches all the inhabitants of the earth—
he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.
A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save.
Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,
to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and shield.
Our heart is glad in him because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
Hebrews 11:3-6, 8-16
By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain’s. Through this he received approval as righteous, God himself giving approval to his gifts; he died, but through his faith he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken so that he did not experience death, and “he was not found, because God had taken him.” For it was attested before he was taken away that “he had pleased God.” And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would approach God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him

Holy Spirit, Breath of God,
You have given us all we have-life, love, the promise of things unseen. Receive now these gifts we return to you. By your Spirit, bless and multiply them-that they may build hope where there is despair, shelter where there is fear, and joy where there is longing. Use our offerings, and use our lives, to witness to your promise-by faith and through grace. Amen.
